Secret Society of Chicago: A Detective City Game

An outdoor detective game set across Chicago's streets, where players follow a long-running conspiracy by solving puzzles at real-world locations. The outing begins in the Old Town Triangle District.

Secret Society of Chicago: A Detective City Game is a self-guided outing in which players take on the role of a detective and trace a secret society through the city. The story unfolds across 12 chapters. Each one asks participants to decode messages and solve puzzles at real-world sites, and clues can turn up in a mural, a statue or a narrow alley.

Participants need a smartphone with an internet connection to follow the case. The number of players is not capped, so the game can be tackled alone or with a group. The route runs through streets, plazas and quieter corners of the city, and it stays outdoors: private buildings and premises are off limits.

The game suits solo players, groups of friends and families, as well as visitors who want to explore Chicago on foot while a story unfolds around them. It is a good fit for anyone who enjoys puzzles and scavenger-style searches.
