Sister Midnight and KCRW Present: Gaby Moreno Sings Bowie

Sister Midnight and KCRW present a Los Angeles concert in which Gaby Moreno sings the songs of David Bowie, staged at Pacific Electric. It is a tribute program, not a set by Bowie.

Gaby Moreno is a Guatemalan-born singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, working across Spanish- and English-language songs. This evening is a tribute: Moreno sings the songs of David Bowie, the English artist behind records such as Space Oddity, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and Heroes. Bowie does not perform. The concert is presented by Sister Midnight and KCRW, the Santa Monica public radio station.

Bowie, born in London, began recording in the late 1960s and moved across glam rock, art rock and electronic pop over the following decades. The program suits listeners who know his catalog and want to hear it sung by a songwriter whose own work draws on pop, rock and indie.

Pacific Electric is a Los Angeles venue that hosts concerts and shows. The evening is a single program within its schedule, centered on Bowie's songwriting as interpreted by Moreno.
