Overview
A drag celebration of Björk's music presented at Color Club in Chicago, staged as an all-drag birthday party. The title plays on the Icelandic singer's name and the occasion.
The Björkening: an All-Drag Bjïrthday Celebration is a drag show built around Björk, the Icelandic singer, and styled as a birthday party. Its title plays on the singer's name, with "Bjïrthday" respelled to echo Björk, and the celebration of Björk's work is performed by drag artists.
Color Club, the Chicago venue hosting the production, hosts concerts and shows. The title's framing as a celebration points to a party-style evening rather than a narrative play. The show is aimed at fans of Björk and of drag, with the Icelandic singer's music at its center.
