Overview
Andrea Gibson's Love Letter From The Afterlife is a live show that brings together poet Andrea Gibson, poet Megan Falley and singer-songwriter Mary Lambert, with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra on stage. The title frames the program as a letter written from beyond life, and the cast draws on spoken word, song and orchestral sound.
Gibson and Falley bring the written word to the production, while Lambert's songwriting and the orchestra shape its musical side. The evening suits audiences who follow contemporary poetry, singer-songwriter music or orchestral programs, and who want to hear several distinct voices in one night.
The show is presented at The Auditorium Chicago, a Chicago venue that hosts concerts and shows, and it is aimed at audiences drawn to live performance across poetry, song and orchestral music.
