The Seldom Scene and Tim & Savannah Finch & The Eastman String Band

A concert pairing The Seldom Scene, a Washington-area bluegrass band formed in 1971, with Tim and Savannah Finch and the Eastman String Band, at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Seldom Scene is a bluegrass band formed in 1971 in the Washington, D.C., area, and it built its following through a long residency at the Red Fox Inn in Bethesda, Maryland. The group's membership has changed over the decades, while its repertoire has stayed rooted in bluegrass, country and folk. The genre given for this evening, blues, country and folk, places the program within American roots music.

Tim and Savannah Finch and the Eastman String Band share the bill with The Seldom Scene, so the evening pairs two acts in a single program of roots music.

The concert takes place at the Birchmere, a music venue in Alexandria, Virginia, that hosts concerts and shows. The evening suits listeners who follow bluegrass, country and folk, as well as those interested in long-established Washington-area groups.
