Overview

A comic stage musical in the parody genre, staged at St. Luke's Theatre in New York under the title Traitorz: The Unauthorized Musical Parody.

Traitorz: The Unauthorized Musical Parody is a stage musical in the comedy form of parody, a genre that imitates and satirizes familiar material. Its title marks it as an unauthorized work rather than an official production.

The production is staged at St. Luke's Theatre in New York, a venue that hosts concerts and shows. Musical theater audiences and admirers of comic parody are the people this format suits. Its place among musicals, rather than concerts or plays, is set by its genre.

Parody musicals work by borrowing the conventions of songs, staging and dialogue and turning them toward comedy, so familiarity with musical theater tends to sharpen the humor for the audience.
