Overview
A Tuesday blues evening at Fitzgeralds Nightclub in Berwyn, with harmonica player and singer Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues, presented with host Scott "Hambone" Hammer.
Billy Branch is a Chicago blues harmonica player and singer, and the Sons of Blues is the band Branch leads. Branch came up in the city's blues scene and played with Willie Dixon's Chicago Blues All-Stars before working as a bandleader under his own name. The music rests on the Chicago blues tradition, with harmonica at the front of the arrangements, and the act's repertoire is drawn from that tradition.
The night is built around the WDCB Bluesday Tuesday series, hosted by Scott "Hambone" Hammer. It suits anyone who follows Chicago harmonica blues and the station's blues programming, as well as listeners who want to see the band in person.
Fitzgeralds Nightclub in Berwyn hosts concerts and shows, and this booking brings a Chicago blues act to a suburban venue on the western edge of the city.
