Carbon Leaf is an American folk and indie band with country and alternative influences, formed in Richmond in 1992. Its first album, Meander, was released in 1996, and the group's music draws on folk songwriting, country textures and alternative rock. Its sound moves across pop, rock and indie, with folk at the core.

The Birchmere, in Alexandria, hosts concerts and shows, and this evening places Carbon Leaf on its stage. The night suits listeners drawn to folk-rooted songwriting and country-tinged rock, as well as fans who have followed the band's catalogue since Meander. Its songs span the years since that debut, giving longtime followers and newer listeners a range of material to hear.
