Chicago The Musical

Chicago The Musical is a stage production in the musicals genre, presented at the Ambassador Theatre in New York. It is a staged show rather than a concert.

Chicago is a musical with a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, presented on Broadway in New York. Its story follows women accused of murder in 1920s Chicago, and it is built around jazz-influenced music and dance numbers that tell the story through song. The show is listed here under the musicals genre, so the evening centers on the score, the choreography and the performers on stage.

As a theater production, the performance is a sequence of songs and scenes shared between the cast and the orchestra, with the dance numbers forming a large part of the staging. The cast is the core of the evening, and the production is presented as a whole show rather than as a recital or a concert by a single act.

The Ambassador Theatre hosts concerts and shows in New York. The evening suits those who want a staged musical with a story, a jazz-era score and dance, and the venue is a theater space in the city, offering a traditional evening out for musical theater audiences.
