Claudio Simonetti's Goblin Performs the

A concert by Claudio Simonetti's Goblin, the project led by keyboardist Claudio Simonetti around the Italian band Goblin, presented at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco.

Goblin is an Italian band formed in Rome in the early 1970s, first as Cherry Five and renamed Goblin in 1975. The group's reputation rests largely on its film scores for director Dario Argento, including Deep Red (Profondo Rosso, 1975), Suspiria (1977) and Tenebrae (1982), where synthesizers and rock instrumentation shape the themes. Claudio Simonetti, a keyboardist and founding member, leads Claudio Simonetti's Goblin, the project presented here under his name.

For listeners who follow Italian horror cinema or the band's soundtrack work, the connection to the group's history is direct, since those scores made up much of its recorded output.

The Castro Theatre is a historic movie palace in San Francisco's Castro district, opened in 1922. It hosts concerts and shows as well as film screenings.
