Def Leppard is a British hard rock band formed in Sheffield in 1977. Its first album, On Through the Night, was released on Mercury Records in 1980, and the band has remained active for decades since then. Its records place it among the most recognizable British hard rock groups of its era.

The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1986. Their 1998 single "Iris" is one of their best-known songs. The Struts, also on the bill, are a British rock band whose songs draw on the glam and classic rock tradition.

The Prudential Center is an arena in Newark, New Jersey, that hosts concerts and shows. The evening suits listeners who follow classic and alternative rock, with two bands from different generations on one bill.
