Great Lake Swimmers with Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter (duo)

A folk-rooted concert in San Francisco featuring Great Lake Swimmers, the Canadian band led by Tony Dekker, with Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter at Cafe Du Nord.

Great Lake Swimmers is a folk band from Ontario, Canada, led by songwriter Tony Dekker. Their self-titled debut appeared in 2005, and later albums such as Forest Floor (2016) carry on the group's acoustic, melodic approach. The project's catalog sits within the folk tradition, which this bill links to the blues and country styles also represented on the program.

Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter, a duo, share the bill with Great Lake Swimmers, so the evening moves between two acts working in the same roots-oriented field. The combined music spans blues, country and folk, offering a range of American roots sounds in one night.

Cafe Du Nord is a San Francisco venue that hosts concerts and shows. The night suits listeners who follow folk and roots songwriting and want to hear two distinct acts in one place.
