Ibeyi

Ibeyi, a duo of twin sisters, performs in Los Angeles at Pacific Electric, a venue that hosts concerts and shows. The night centers on the band's pop, rock and indie sound.

Ibeyi is a duo formed by the twins Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi, with roots in Cuban and Yoruba heritage that show up in their vocals and rhythms. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2015 on XL Recordings, and the follow-up, Vessel, was released in 2017. Their songs blend electronic production with piano and percussion, and the duo sings in several languages, including Yoruba.

The project works in pop, rock and indie territory, so the set will appeal to listeners who follow melodic songwriting with layered textures and a strong rhythmic core. Fans of artists who mix traditional percussion with modern production will find the sound familiar, though the music stands on its own terms.

Pacific Electric is a Los Angeles venue for concerts and shows, which places this performance within the city's live music calendar. The evening suits anyone interested in the band's catalog or in hearing how their recorded material translates to a stage in front of an audience.
