Jeffrey Osborne & Will Downing

An R&B and soul evening with Jeffrey Osborne and Will Downing at The Theater at MGM National Harbor in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C.

Jeffrey Osborne is an American singer who rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of L.T.D. (Love, Togetherness and Dancing), the Philadelphia-based group whose 1976 single "Love Ballad" became a soul standard. Osborne then built a solo career, with "On the Wings of Love" (1982) among the most recognized songs from that period. Will Downing is an American R&B vocalist whose smooth, romantic singing draws on the soul tradition of the 1970s and 1980s.

The program on this stop draws on R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, a range that reflects the two singers'grounding in the soul and R&B tradition. Each artist's catalog offers a clear view of how that style developed from the 1970s into the contemporary R&B of later decades.

The Theater at MGM National Harbor hosts concerts and shows in National Harbor, a waterfront entertainment district on the Potomac River in Prince George's County. The evening suits listeners who follow classic soul, romantic R&B ballads and the work of singers who built long careers on the vocal style.
