Morten is an electronic music act, and this concert brings its live sound to Los Angeles. Electronic music grew out of synthesizer and drum machine experimentation in the 1970s and 1980s and became central to dance culture. Live performances in the genre typically combine studio-built sounds with arrangements shaped for the stage, using synthesizers, drum machines, samplers and computer-based production.

Academy LA is a venue in Los Angeles that hosts concerts and shows, so the evening sits within the city's regular live music programming. It suits listeners who want to hear electronic music performed live, and those interested in how the genre translates from recordings to a concert setting.
