Steve Aoki is a Japanese-American DJ and record producer working in the electronica genre. Born in Miami in 1977, the artist is associated with Dim Mak Records, the label that is part of the project's public identity and that has released work connected to this name.

This is a DJ-led act, so the evening centers on electronic dance music played as a DJ set, with the artist's own productions at the core of the material. Fans of electronica and club-oriented dance music will find the genre at the heart of the night, whether they know the records already or come to discover the sound in a live setting.

Academy LA in Los Angeles hosts concerts and shows, and this electronic night is part of that programming. The date is one of several concerts the venue presents, and the evening suits listeners who want a DJ performance in the city.
