Overview
Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox brings vintage-style jazz arrangements of modern pop hits to the stage in Boston.
Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox is a musical project created by pianist and arranger Scott Bradlee, active since the early 2010s. The collective reimagines contemporary popular music in historical American popular styles, drawing primarily from 1920s through 1950s jazz, ragtime, swing, and doo-wop traditions. The repertoire centers on radical stylistic reinterpretations of current radio hits, transforming modern song structures into period-authentic arrangements featuring vintage instrumentation, horns, and vocal harmonies.
Live performances feature a rotating cast of singers and instrumentalists performing the ensemble's catalog. The concert presents a revolving ensemble format highlighting different vocalists and soloists across the set.
The Wilbur hosts this performance in Boston. The venue presents touring concerts and theatrical shows.
