John Scofield's electrospective

John Scofield brings Electrospective to the Somerville Theatre for an evening of contemporary jazz.

American guitarist John Scofield, born in 1951 in Dayton, has spent decades defining modern jazz and jazz fusion. Active since the 1970s, Scofield released the debut album East Meets West in 1978 and has since recorded for labels including Deutsche Grammophon, building a catalog that bridges post-bop, funk, and groove-oriented improvisation.

On this tour stop, Scofield performs alongside Oteil Burbridge, Larry Goldings, and Adam Deitch. The concert takes place at Somerville Theatre, a cultural landmark in Somerville that regularly hosts live music and theatrical performances.

The program appeals to followers of adventurous instrumental music and guitar-driven improvisation. Listeners familiar with Scofield's extensive discography will find a showcase of collaborative interplay within a jazz framework.
