Sid Sriram

Sid Sriram and Julius Rodriguez share a bill at Blue Note Los Angeles, pairing Indian film, Carnatic and pop music with American jazz piano, drumming and composition.

Sid Sriram is an Indian musician active since 2013, working in Indian film music, Carnatic music and Indian pop. Born in 1990 in Madras, India, Sriram released the first album, Taxiwaala, in 2018. The music on this bill spans R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae.

Julius Rodriguez is an American jazz pianist, drummer and composer, born in White Plains in 1998. The debut album, Let Sound Tell All, was released in 2022.

Blue Note Los Angeles hosts concerts and shows in Los Angeles. This evening brings together two acts with separate musical roots: Sriram's film, Carnatic and pop work, and Rodriguez's jazz playing and composition. It suits listeners who follow both the song traditions of Indian music and contemporary jazz.
