The Chicks — Taking the Long Way

A concert by The Chicks at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, built around the trio's country, folk and blues repertoire and titled after their album Taking the Long Way.

The Chicks are an American trio formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989, made up of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer. Their breakthrough came with the 1998 album Wide Open Spaces, followed by Fly in 1999, which included the single "Goodbye Earl."

Taking the Long Way, released in 2006, blends country with blues, folk and rock elements and includes "Not Ready to Make Nice." This show takes its title from that record, and its musical identity rests on country, folk and blues, the genres of the trio's work.

The Dolby Theatre hosts exhibitions and cultural events in Los Angeles, and this concert brings the group to its stage for listeners interested in country, folk and blues played by a band with decades of recorded work behind it.
