The Piano Guys

The Piano Guys are an instrumental act from Utah whose piano and cello arrangements of popular songs grew out of their online videos. This concert takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Piano Guys are an American instrumental ensemble formed in Utah, built around pianist Jon Schmidt and cellist Steven Sharp Nelson. The group began by posting music videos online, and its catalog centers on original arrangements and covers of popular songs, performed on piano and cello and documented through video as well as recordings.

The Dolby Theatre is located in Hollywood, in Los Angeles, and hosts exhibitions and cultural events. The evening suits listeners drawn to the pairing of piano and cello and to instrumental versions of familiar tunes, which are the core of the group's work.

Audiences who already know the videos will recognize much of the approach, while newcomers can hear how the two instruments carry melodies that are usually sung. The show is presented as a concert by The Piano Guys.
