The High Kings

The High Kings are a band whose music sits in blues, country and folk. This concert brings them to the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia, a short trip from Washington, D.C.

The High Kings work across blues, country and folk, three styles that overlap in song structure, acoustic instrumentation and storytelling lyrics. Their music draws on the chord patterns and vocal phrasing of country and blues alongside the narrative tradition of folk, so the material moves easily between slower, reflective songs and more rhythmic numbers.
