The Jayhawks

A Los Angeles concert at The Bellwether that brings together The Jayhawks, an alternative country band formed in Minneapolis, and folk and country singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier.

The Jayhawks are an American alternative country band formed in Minneapolis in 1985. Their debut self-titled album came out in 1986. Gary Louris and Mark Olson were founding members, and the albums Hollywood Town Hall (1992) and Tomorrow the Green Grass (1995) are part of the band's core catalog of country-tinged rock songs.

Mary Gauthier is a folk and country singer-songwriter from the United States, born in 1962. The debut album Drag Queens in Limousines was released in 1999. The two acts share a songwriting focus rooted in country and folk, so the bill will appeal to listeners who follow roots-based American music.

The Bellwether hosts concerts and shows in Los Angeles. This evening is a good fit for fans of alternative country and singer-songwriter material who want to hear two acts with long-running, distinct catalogs in one night.
