The Play That Goes Wrong

The Play That Goes Wrong is a comedy show presented at New World Stages in New York, following a amateur theater company as its production unravels on stage.

This is a comedy built around a deliberately disastrous staging. The premise follows a small amateur drama society attempting a period murder mystery, and the evening is driven by the mounting mishaps that unfold in front of the audience as the production falls apart. The humor relies on precise physical comedy, timing and visual gags rather than on spoken wordplay alone.

In the auditorium, expect a lively, fast-paced comic performance in which the cast keeps the illusion of a live show while everything goes awry. The show is aimed at general audiences who enjoy farce and slapstick, and it suits a night out with friends or a relaxed evening in the theater.

The production is staged at New World Stages, a venue in New York that hosts concerts and shows, and the Stage 4 room is where this comedy takes place.
