The Suitcase Junket

The Suitcase Junket is the one-man-band project of Matt Lorenz, who builds the instruments used on stage from scratch and from salvaged parts. This concert takes place at Gold-Diggers in Los Angeles.

Matt Lorenz performs as The Suitcase Junket, playing alone with instruments of their own making. The guitar was rescued from a dumpster, and the bass drum is built from an antique suitcase. Lorenz's voice was shaped on the streets of Barcelona.

The music is described as grand and cinematic, even though a single performer produces the entire sound on stage. The project's appeal rests on how much a solo player can generate with homemade and salvaged instruments, combining guitar, drum and voice in one person.

Gold-Diggers is a Los Angeles venue that hosts concerts and shows. This solo performance suits listeners interested in a one-person band built around reclaimed and handmade instruments.
