Tosca is an opera staged at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, presented as a live performance for opera audiences.

Tosca is an opera, a genre in which the story is carried by sung vocal lines over orchestral accompaniment. This production is staged at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in the city.

In the auditorium, the performance is centered on the singers, and the drama unfolds on stage through sung text rather than spoken dialogue. The emotional weight rests on the voices and the music, so the evening is built around vocal performance and staging.

The show is aimed at opera lovers who want to hear a full operatic work performed live in New York, and at newcomers who are discovering the form for the first time.
