Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks

A New York concert by Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, led by bassist and bass saxophonist Vince Giordano, at Birdland Theater. The evening is part of the venue's concert and show program.

Vince Giordano leads the Nighthawks, a band he formed in New York in 1976, and plays bass saxophone and string bass in the group. The band has worked extensively in film, television and recording, and its period music was heard in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire, which drew on the group's work for its soundtrack. Giordano has also been active as a performer and collaborator beyond the Nighthawks, which gives the act a long history on the New York scene.

Birdland Theater hosts concerts and shows in New York, and this performance is one of the live music evenings in its program. The stage is the setting for the Nighthawks'live presentation, with Giordano at the center of the band's sound.

The concert suits listeners who want to hear a long-running New York band performed in person, and anyone who knows the group through its recordings or its television work.
