Weapon of Choice

A tribute party celebrating the classic songs of Weapon of Choice, a pop, rock and indie band from Los Angeles, staged at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

Weapon of Choice is a Los Angeles band in the pop, rock and indie vein, described as pioneering and influential in its home city. This evening is a tribute: a party built around the band's classic songs, played by a group of teachers from the Silverlake Conservatory of Music rather than by the original band.

Three conservatory teachers take the core roles: Kerim on drums, Marc Rey on guitar, and Lonnie Marshall on bass and vocals. Mark Cross, presented as an original member of the band, plays keyboards and sings. Elizabeth Lea, of Tedeschi Trucks, plays trombone and sings, and Django is on vocals. Special guests are part of the program.

The Silverlake Conservatory of Music hosts concerts and shows in Los Angeles. The night is billed as a groove-driven celebration of the band's repertoire, aimed at listeners who know its music and want to hear it played live in tribute form.
