Willi Carlisle

A San Francisco concert at The Independent featuring Willi Carlisle and Amelia Day, with music rooted in blues, country and folk.

Willi Carlisle performs in the blues, country and folk tradition, drawing on roots-based songwriting that links these three idioms. Blues supplies the phrasing and emotional weight, country the song forms and storytelling conventions, and folk the acoustic, narrative approach. Amelia Day shares the bill, so the evening places both acts within the same musical territory.

The Independent is a San Francisco venue that hosts concerts and shows. This evening suits listeners who follow roots music for its songwriting, with the voice and the lyric at the center of each performance. It is a concert for anyone interested in how blues, country and folk meet in a single set of songs.
