Cinderella: Buttons Undone!

A comic pantomime version of Cinderella set in the resort of Lob-on-Sea, staged at the Charing Cross Theatre in London. It is a Christmas show with a deliberately adult, camp tone.

Cinderella: Buttons Undone! is a comedy presented as a yuletide fairytale pantomime. The story follows Cindy, a hotel maid, and her stepsister Mercedes, who is her boss, as both hope to meet a prince. The plot centres on tennis champion Ivan Yassandvich, who is holding a ball in the resort of Lob-on-Sea, and on Cindy's gay best friend Buttons, who has decided to avoid straight men.

The listing describes the production as deeply adult and openly camp, so it suits audiences who enjoy innuendo and broad, knowing humour rather than a traditional family panto. Matthew Baldwin and Chris Lane are named as the two siblings, with Baldwin playing the dame role described in the source material.

The show is staged at the Charing Cross Theatre, a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. It is a seasonal production, so it will appeal most to adults looking for a festive comedy with a strong queer sensibility.
