Overview
A London event marking the 35th anniversary of Primal Scream's album Screamadelica, staged at Riverside Studios. The record was released in 1991 by the Glasgow rock band.
Primal Scream are a rock band formed in Glasgow in 1982 around vocalist Bobby Gillespie. Their third album, Screamadelica, was released in 1991 on Creation Records and blends rock with acid house and dance music. Its tracks include the singles Loaded and Movin'On Up.
The record marks the band's move from guitar rock towards dance culture, and its songs combine rock song structures with house rhythms and psychedelic textures. The 35th anniversary of the album is the reason for this evening, which is built around the record itself.
Riverside Studios is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. This anniversary event centres on Screamadelica, one of the band's best-known albums, and is aimed at listeners interested in the record and its place in the band's history.
