Overview
A full-length classical ballet presented by the Royal Ballet and Opera at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London.
Swan Lake is a full-length classical ballet presented by the Royal Ballet and Opera. The story follows Prince Siegfried, who falls in love with Odette, a princess transformed into a swan by a sorcerer's curse, and the deception carried out by the sorcerer's daughter, Odile. The title is also the name of a Canadian indie rock band, active since 2006 and signed to Jagjaguwar, whose first album was Beast Moans; that group has no link with this ballet.
The Royal Opera House, in Covent Garden, is the home of the Royal Ballet and Opera and hosts opera and ballet productions in London. Swan Lake is a work from the classical repertoire, so the evening is built around dance rather than spoken dialogue.
The show suits audiences who want a traditional full-length ballet, with the emphasis on classical choreography and the story told through movement.
