Tango After Dark

Tango After Dark is a dance show at Sadler's Wells Theatre in London, presenting Argentine tango through a company of ten dancers, a live orchestra and two singers.

The production takes the Argentine tango, a dance rooted in the nightlife of Buenos Aires, as its subject. The company is led by Germán Cornejo, who is named in the listing as a World Tango Champion, and the show is presented as a return following an earlier run in 2018.

On stage, ten dancers perform a sequence of pieces built on strength, elegance and emotion, with the partnering between dancers at the centre of the choreography. The music is performed live by an orchestra of five musicians together with two singers, and the repertoire draws on the work of the composer Astor Piazzolla, whose Nuevo Tango forms the sound of the evening.

The listing addresses both newcomers to tango and those already familiar with the form. The show is staged at Sadler's Wells Theatre, a London venue that hosts concerts and shows.
