As You Like It

A new production of Shakespeare's As You Like It staged at Shakespeare's Globe in London, with live music and a forest setting. It is a classical theatre show.

This production of Shakespeare's comedy follows Rosalind, Celia and their companions as they leave a cold and cruel court and withdraw into the Forest of Arden, a setting the staging presents as full of music, joy and unexpected turns. The play's themes of self-discovery and love are at the centre of the production.

The show is co-directed by Sean Holmes and Charlie Josephine, both of whom have previously worked at the Globe. The staging makes live music part of the performance, and the production is presented on the Globe stage, the open-air theatre on the South Bank that Shakespeare's company used for its plays.

The listing describes a bold new reading of the play aimed at audiences who know the work and at those meeting it for the first time. Several dates are offered across the season, including performances with captioning, audio description, BSL interpretation and relaxed performances, so visitors can choose a session that suits their needs.
