Muireann Bradley is an Irish musician from County Donegal who sings and plays guitar in the fingerpicking manner of the original rural blues and ragtime artists of the 1920s to 1940s. She began playing at nine, encouraged by a father who loved the blues, and learned largely by ear, listening closely to Blind Blake, Mississippi John Hurt and Memphis Minnie.

Her debut album, I Kept These Old Blues (2023), drew attention on both sides of the Atlantic, and the musician was invited by Jools Holland to perform on Hootenanny. More recently the Blackwood Pew EP marked a move into songwriting, with original compositions sitting alongside reworkings of the music that shaped the performer. Her material draws on blues, ragtime, country and Irish traditional music.

The concert takes place at Oran Mor, a Glasgow venue that hosts concerts and shows. The evening will suit listeners interested in acoustic blues and ragtime guitar, and in the way a traditional style is carried into new songs.
