Overview
Musicals on Brass is a concert of songs from the musical theatre repertoire, arranged for brass instruments. The programme takes familiar show tunes and gives their melodies to the brass section, so the evening is built around the sound of brass rather than the voices of the original productions. Each number keeps its recognisable tune, which makes the programme accessible to listeners without prior knowledge of brass ensemble playing.
The Emerald Theatre is at 8 Victoria Embankment, WC2R 2AB, on the north bank of the Thames in central London. The concert suits anyone who knows the stage musical and wants to hear its scores played instrumentally, as well as listeners who enjoy brass ensemble music.
