Wicked: Part One in Concert

A concert presentation of music from Wicked, the Broadway musical, staged at The Auditorium Chicago, a Chicago venue for concerts and shows. The evening focuses on the score rather than the full staging.

Wicked is a stage musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel Wicked, which retells The Wizard of Oz from the perspective of its witches. It opened on Broadway in 2003, and this program, Wicked: Part One in Concert, draws on that score.

The concert is presented by Wicked in Concert, and the songs from the show are the core of the evening. It suits audiences who already know the musical's story and music, as well as listeners interested in hearing Schwartz's score performed in a concert setting.

The Auditorium Chicago hosts concerts and shows in Chicago, and this presentation is one of the programs staged there.
