Overview

A big band jazz evening in Berwyn, presented as Big Band & BBQ with the Dana Legg Stage Band at Fitzgeralds Nightclub, a venue for concerts and shows.

Big Band & BBQ pairs the Dana Legg Stage Band with a barbecue meal, the format named in the title of this jazz evening. Big band jazz is built on a large ensemble combining brass and reed sections with a rhythm section, a style that became central to American dance music and jazz in the 1930s and 1940s.

Fitzgeralds Nightclub in Berwyn hosts concerts and shows, and this evening is aimed at listeners who enjoy big band jazz and want to pair it with a barbecue dinner. Big band arrangements typically give each section its own voice, so the sound shifts between full ensemble passages and solo features.
