Don B. Welch Productions presents: ANDREA JONES & JAMECA DEVANT sing Roberta Flack & Mavis Staples

A jazz concert in Hollywood, presented by Don B. Welch Productions, in which Andrea Jones and Jameca Devant sing songs associated with Roberta Flack and Mavis Staples. It is a tribute program.

The evening is a tribute. Andrea Jones and Jameca Devant perform songs associated with Roberta Flack and Mavis Staples, and neither Flack nor Staples appears on stage. Roberta Flack, an American singer and pianist, recorded "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," and Mavis Staples, a gospel and soul singer, was a member of The Staple Singers before launching a solo career.

The show is presented by Don B. Welch Productions and takes place at Catalina Jazz Club, which hosts concerts and shows in Hollywood. The repertoire places the evening within jazz, with two vocalists interpreting the work of two singers from the soul and vocal traditions.

The program suits listeners who want to hear these songs sung by vocalists in a jazz setting, rather than in the recorded versions. Catalina Jazz Club is a jazz club, and the performance is presented as a jazz night.
