Handmade Dumplings: Techniques & Traditions

A hands-on workshop in Washington, D.C., where participants make dumplings from scratch, from dough and fillings to folding and cooking, led by Chef Troy at Galería @ La Cosecha.

In this hands-on workshop, Chef Troy leads participants through each stage of dumpling making: pressing wrappers from dough, mixing fillings, shaping the parcels and practicing classic folding techniques. The session is taught in English and proceeds step by step under guided instruction.

Participants cook the dumplings they shape, then finish them with a dipping sauce and share the batch at the table. Equipment, ingredients, guided instruction and the freshly made dumplings are all included. The format suits first-timers, people who prefer to observe, those who like to lend a hand, and home cooks who want techniques they can repeat in their own kitchens.

The workshop is held at Galería @ La Cosecha in Washington, D.C. The experience is not wheelchair accessible.
