S.G. Goodman Presents: Visiting Hours, An Evening of Songs and Stories

An evening in Evanston with singer-songwriter S.G. Goodman, pairing songs with spoken stories in the country, folk and blues tradition, presented at Space.

S.G. Goodman is a singer-songwriter from Kentucky whose work draws on country, folk and blues. The debut album, Old Time Feeling, came out in 2019, and the songwriting sits in the Southern storytelling tradition, with lyrics rooted in rural life and arrangements built around roots instrumentation.

This evening, titled Visiting Hours, An Evening of Songs and Stories, places the songs alongside spoken narration, so the material is introduced and framed between pieces. It suits listeners who follow country, folk and blues songwriting closely, and anyone curious about the stories behind the songs.

Space hosts concerts and shows in Evanston, a suburb just north of Chicago, and this performance is part of its program.
