Overview
The Ultimate Doors is a tribute act devoted to Jim Morrison and The Doors, the rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965. The show is performed at Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood.
The Ultimate Doors is a tribute act, not the original band. It honors Jim Morrison and The Doors, the rock group formed in Los Angeles in 1965. The original line-up featured Morrison on vocals, Ray Manzarek on keyboards, Robby Krieger on guitar and John Densmore on drums. The band's best-known songs include Light My Fire and Break On Through (To the Other Side), and its 1971 album L.A. Woman takes its title from the city where the group began. The Doors drew on blues, jazz and psychedelic influences, and their records combined those sounds with Morrison's poetic lyrics.
The show is for listeners who know The Doors'catalog and want to hear those songs performed live by a tribute act. Whisky A Go Go is a concert venue in West Hollywood, and the program is presented there as a homage to the original band.
