A Tribute to Toto w. Andrew Patinkin & Stephon “Mooch" Brown

A tribute concert devoted to the music of Toto, the American rock band, with Andrew Patinkin and Stephon “Mooch” Brown, at Space in Evanston.

Toto is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1977 by a group of session musicians. Its records combine rock, pop and carefully built studio arrangements. The band's best-known songs include “Hold the Line” from its 1978 debut album, and “Africa” and “Rosanna” from Toto IV, released in 1982.

This evening is a tribute, so the songs are performed by Andrew Patinkin and Stephon “Mooch” Brown rather than by the original band. The program draws on Toto's catalog, with the pop and rock writing that has defined the band's sound since the late 1970s.

Space hosts concerts and shows in Evanston. The program suits listeners who know Toto's records well and those who are hearing the songs for the first time.
