Overview
A film-music concert built around the score of Attack on Titan, the anime series adapted from Hajime Isayama's manga, presented at Symphony Center in Chicago.
Attack on Titan is a manga by Hajime Isayama, serialized from 2009, and its anime adaptation was produced by Wit Studio and MAPPA. The series follows humanity's struggle against giant humanoid Titans behind a chain of walled cities, and its music has become one of its most recognizable elements.
The score for the anime is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, whose orchestral and choral writing defines the show's sound. The opening theme, "Guren no Yumiya," is performed by the Japanese band Linked Horizon, with music by Sawano. Symphony from Paradis draws on this material for a concert setting, presenting the series'themes in an orchestral format.
The program suits fans of the anime and listeners interested in film and series scores who want to hear the music performed live. Symphony Center is a Chicago venue that hosts concerts and shows.
