The Rocky Horror Picture Show Original Cast Spooktacular Tour

A concert presentation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the 1975 cult musical film, at the Chicago Theatre, billed as the Original Cast Spooktacular Tour. The night centers on the film's score.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a British-American musical comedy horror film released in 1975, directed by Jim Sharman. Its songs and lyrics were written by Richard O'Brien, who also appeared in the film, and it adapts the 1973 stage musical The Rocky Horror Show. The score blends rock and roll pastiche with references to science fiction and horror films, and numbers such as "Time Warp" and "Sweet Transvestite" are among its best-known songs.

The film built its following through midnight screenings, where audiences traditionally respond to the screen with call-backs and costumes. This tour, billed as an Original Cast Spooktacular, brings the music of the film to a concert stage, drawing on the title's stage and screen history.

The Chicago Theatre is a landmark venue on State Street in the Loop, opened in 1921, and it hosts concerts and shows across the year. The night suits fans of the film and of Richard O'Brien's songs, as well as newcomers to the cult title.
