Bruce Liu Performs Tchaikovsky

Canadian pianist Bruce Liu performs Tchaikovsky with the New York Philharmonic at David Geffen Hall, in a classical program built around the composer's music.

Bruce Liu is a Canadian pianist born in 1997 who began his career in 2012. In 2021 he won first prize at the XVIII Frédéric Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, a result that brought him wide attention in the piano world. This evening puts his playing of Tchaikovsky alongside the New York Philharmonic, one of the city's longest-established orchestras.

The program is classical, with Tchaikovsky's music as its focus and Liu as the soloist at the piano. Concerts of this kind suit listeners who follow the piano repertoire of the Romantic period and want to hear a Chopin prize winner in a different composer's work.

David Geffen Hall, in Lincoln Center, is the New York Philharmonic's home venue and hosts concerts and shows throughout the year.
