Lang Lang

A piano recital by Lang Lang, the Chinese classical pianist, presented at the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Lang Lang is a Chinese classical pianist born in 1982 in Shenyang. The pianist came to wider notice through the junior Tchaikovsky Competition in 1995, and has been active since 1993. Signed to Deutsche Grammophon, Lang Lang released an album in 2002, marking the start of a recording career on one of classical music's best-known labels.

This evening is a classical recital, with the pianist performing solo at the keyboard. The program is a concert of piano music in the classical tradition, the kind of repertoire Lang Lang has built a career on since childhood.

The concert takes place at the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, a venue hosting concerts and shows in New York. It suits listeners who follow solo piano recitals and those interested in hearing a pianist whose career began with an international competition and continued through a major recording contract.
