D.K. Harrell is a musical act working across blues, country and folk. Those three traditions share deep roots in American song, with blues shaping much of the harmonic and rhythmic language that country and folk later drew on. An evening with this act brings them together under one name.

The concert takes place at Space, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in Evanston, just north of Chicago. The evening suits listeners who follow blues, country and folk. Blues, country and folk each have a long history of performance in small rooms, so a live evening in this style is a direct way to hear the traditions.
