Overview
Degenerates is a comedy staged at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater, the stage of Playwrights Horizons, a nonprofit theater company in Midtown Manhattan devoted to new American plays. The company's focus on contemporary writing places this production among recent work for the stage rather than a repertoire classic, and the evening is built around humor rather than music or dance.
Comedy at this address is a live evening in which the laughs come from the performers on stage and the script. Audiences who follow new writing in New York will find the Peter Jay Sharp Theater a fitting setting for a contemporary comedy, since the venue is closely tied to the development of new plays.
