JD McPHERSON

JD McPherson headlines a concert at Pacific Electric in Los Angeles, with Melissa Carper also on the bill. The evening falls in the pop, rock and indie category.

JD McPherson is an American singer and songwriter whose music draws on 1950s rock 'n'roll, rockabilly and rhythm and blues. The 2012 album Signs & Signifiers is one of the key records in the project's catalog, and its retro-leaning sound has remained central to the act's identity.

The bill also includes Melissa Carper, so the evening presents two artists in one program. The music sits in the pop, rock and indie range, with the vintage rock roots of JD McPherson as the clearest reference point.

Pacific Electric hosts concerts and shows in Los Angeles. The night suits listeners who follow rock 'n'roll and rockabilly-rooted music and want to hear a songwriter who builds on that tradition.
